Little Blue Man
Little Blue Man was a creative response to my dad’s illness and his death in 2009. I began working on it 2010 when I moved away from working in Coventry and became based in the North West. I completed the version shown here in the summer of 2015.
It was about grief,
the navy
the navy club
the sea
my dad and me.
Little Blue Man marked an important turning point in my practice. Developed at the same time as my final studio work, The House, it began as a studio-based performance before moving out into the landscape and becoming a walking performance in seven parts.
