Author and performance maker Carran Waterfield will join the Southport Over Fifties Friendship Group to share the story behind her books Redhair and Daffodil Friend and Pink Granite.

Moving between personal story, family-history research, readings and song, Carran will trace some of the journey from her earlier life in theatre and performance towards the strange fictional world of Brinepoint.

She will explore how researching her Waterfield ancestors, alongside her mother’s search for the father she never knew and Carran’s own memories of family loss, gradually found their way into Pink Granite.

The talk will include readings from the book and a song from the story.
