Creative Mindful Walking with Carran Waterfield

Creative Mindful Walking Course
4 Half-Day Sessions · Max 6 Participants
Tuesdays in June: 3, 10, 17, 24

Join performance maker and author Carran Waterfield for a unique four-week course exploring creative mindful walking.

Each session runs on a Tuesday morning in June, departing from The Engine Room (Wayfarers Arcade, Southport)at 9:30am and returning by 1:30pm.

What to Expect:

  • Small group experience (maximum 6 participants)

  • Short indoor introduction at The Engine Room

  • Bus journey to North Southport (Churchtown & Marshside area)

  • Guided walk (~90 mins) with creative prompts and poetry readings

  • Reflective café stop to close the session

  • Return by bus to The Engine Room or home

Each week features a different walking route and theme, designed to open your senses and imagination. Carran will guide reflections using poetry and creative writing to enhance your experience. These walks are gentle, reflective, and creatively stimulating—perfect for the curious and moderately active.

What to Bring:

  • Outdoor clothing suitable for the weather

  • Strong walking shoes

  • A drink

  • Optional: phone or camera for taking photos

Carran Waterfield is a deeply experienced teacher, mentor, and group facilitator, known for leading creative journeys that blend movement, imagination, and personal expression. Over several decades, she has guided people of all ages in developing their own creative “voice” through practices that include walking, performing, writing,  and group facilitation. Her work often connects creativity with place, inviting participants to explore landscapes—both inner and outer—through mindful, expressive walking. Many of those she has mentored have gone on to create original site-specific work, and develop their own unique paths in the arts.
